Former Barack Obama Adviser John Podesta Says He Regrets Not Securing The Disclosure Of UFO Files

I'm not an American so I don't know who John Podesta is. I only came to know of him this morning courtesy of an article I saw on Reddit. Podesta's Wikipedia page says he served as Counselor to the President of the United States from January 2014 to February 2015. The man also served as White House Chief of Staff under the tenure of President Bill Clinton. Suffice it to say that the man is someone you wouldn't expect to be a ufologist.

However, shortly after departing as a White House Adviser this week, Podesta went on Twitter to list what he says are his 10 favorite memories (and some regrets). In one of the tweets, Podesta wrote "Finally, my biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the disclosure of the UFO files." He ended the tweet with the hashtag #thetruthisstilloutthere (The truth is still out there.)

Apparently, Podesta has always been a supporter of efforts by the UFO research community to pressure the American government to release to the public files that they believe are being hidden from sight.
A still from Ridley Scott's science-fiction film Prometheus.
After a passing glance at Podesta's credentials as an official of the U.S. government, he strikes me as a very intelligent man. That said, it baffles me that he thinks there is some sort of a conspiracy by the government to hold back files and information that may shed light to the Roswell incidents of the world.

I don't know (I didn't check) if Podesta actually believes that aliens in disc-shaped space ships landed on Earth and that artifacts and alien specimen were hidden away in secret places. However, I've read enough material about these conspiracy theories to come up with the conclusion that they don't stand on solid ground. I don't know if Podesta have read the same material. If he didn't, I hope he somehow gets his hands on some if not all of them.
