Research Center Says Filipinos Like Americans More Than Americans Like Themselves

The Pew Research Center through its Global Attitudes Project has released a chart containing a list of countries that have been ranked based on their responses to the query "Do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of the American people?" Well, guess what, the Philippines is on top of the list. 85% of Filipinos who participated in the survey have "favorable" opinions of Americans. The United States came in second which is what makes this chart rather strange. Do Filipinos really like Americans more than Americans like themselves?

Coming in a the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots are Ghana, South Korea, and Israel respectively. The Pew Research Center came up with the chart using data gathered in 2013. At the bottom of the chart is Pakistan with a mere 17% of those surveyed saying they like Americans.

Needless to say, it's always best to take these surveys and the charts/maps they come up with with a grain of salt. Lots of salt, actually. It's also worth mentioning that it's weird that the Philippines ranked first in 2013 when the country is nowhere on the list in 2012. Did the survey not include the Philippines in 2012? Are these surveys done with random countries instead of surveying all countries?

Here's the chart. For more information about it and if you want to compare the chart with similar charts from previous years, go here.
