ONE FC: Moment of Truth Results: Honorio Banario Fails to Regain Title from Koji Oishi

In the lead-up to last night's fight at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Honorio Banario revealed a determined intention to regain the featherweight belt he lost to Koji Oishi last May. However, he came up short as Oishi retained his title by knocking out Banario in the third stanza.

Here's a GIF of how the fight ended:

The bout kicked off with a very cautious first round with neither fighter landing anything significant. In the last minutes of the second round, Oishi took full control of the fight by rocking Banario several times. The end came early in the third round when Oishi landed two straight punches, knocking the challenger senseless. Oishi landed a couple more shots while Banario was on the ground and the referee rightfully stepped in and stopped the fight. It was eerily similar to the way Oshi knocked Banario out when they first fought last May, also in Pasay City's biggest arena.

In the co-main event, Kevin Belingon got back into the winning column by finishing David Aranda Santacana via a brutal knockout in the very first round, handing the Spaniard his first professional loss.

In the undercard, two Team Lakay fighters who've lost their latest fights prior to last night redeemed themselves with dominant wins. Eduard Folayang who lost two fights in a row, got his groove back by pounding Vincent Latoel enroute to a unanimous decision victory. Folayang scored takedowns in all three rounds and he almost finished Latoel in the second round with vicious ground and pound.

Gege Eustaquio, on the other hand, cruised to a unanimous decision victory, easily dismantling fellow Filipino Eugene Toquero.

A fifth Cordilleran also fought in the undercard although he wasn't under the Team Lakay banner. Edward Kelly, younger brother or Eric Kelly, fought Herbert Burns of Brazil in the event's opening bout. A replacement opponent in short notice, Burns handed Kelly his first loss by submitting him in the very first minute of the first round.
