Edward Kelly to Face New Opponent in Herbert Burns of Brazil for Tomorrow's Moment of Truth Event

ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC) has just released an announcement which stated that Edward Kelly will be facing an opponent different from the one he was penciled to fight for tomorrow's ONE FC 13: Moment of Truth. Kelly, the younger brother of Eric Kelly was supposed to slug it out with Major Overall, a fighter known for his submission capabilities. However, the ONE FC announced a day before the fight that Kelly will be facing Herbert Burns instead.

The announcement said:
"Herbert Burns (1-0-0) from Evolve MMA steps in at short notice to face Edward Kelly in the opening bout of ONE FC: MOMENT OF TRUTH tomorrow night."

They didn't elaborate as to why Overall was scrapped off the card. Surely, injury isn't the reason as both fighters are healthy and ready to go.

In an update on his Facebook page dated December 3, Overall had the following to say:
"I was planning to leave this morning to go fight in One FC, but instead of boarding my flight I get a message saying the fight is cancelled. I did everything in my power to make this fight happen. I know this would have been a fan favorite fight, but trust me guys I'm more disappointed than you."

So there you go. Overall has no idea why his fight was cancelled. It's just weird though that ONE FC only notified him of the cancellation just a couple of days before the fight.

Overall's replacement is Herbert Burns, a fighter from Brazil. No offense to Kelly but with the change in opponent, a lot of his work tomorrow night has been cut out for him by the ONE FC. For one, Burns doesn't have the experience of Overall. Burns has only one professional fight and this happened more than one year ago. And the fact that he's stepping in at such a short notice, he's going into the ring not only with ring rust but probably with an untrained and unconditioned body as well. But assuming that he's coming in at top shape tomorrow, this is going to be a good fight.

ONE FC: Moment of Truth is happening tomorrow night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The show starts at 7 pm. It will be headlined by the rematch between Team Lakay's Honorio Banario and Koji Oishi, a fighter from Japan. The two fought last May which Oishi won via a second round knockout. Also seeing action in the card are Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon and Gege Eustaquiao.
