Jujeath Nagaowa Wades Into MMA Territory When She Faces Siti Syahida Binte Adek of Malaysia Next Month

Jujeath Nagaowa, a Baguio-born female boxer is changing the course of her career this coming month when she fights in the undercard of One FC 13: Moment of Truth, a mixed martial arts event to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City in the 6th of December. A boxer with a professional record of 12-13-1, this will be the first time that Nagaowa enters an MMA cage.

Her boxing career was a roller coaster, as evidenced by her record wherein she has more losses than wins. The last two years were especially bumpy. After winning the WBC atomweight title in 2012, she lost it in her first defense against Momo Koseki, an imposing Japanese boxer. She fought twice this year and against the same opponent in Ji-Hyun Park, a South Korean. She lost both fights via unanimous decision.

Nagaowa lost three of her last five boxing fights so it's probably a good idea for her to try her luck with MMA. It's a different game altogether and she might find herself excelling in it. We'll find out this December 6th when she slugs it out with Siti Syahida Binte Adek of Malaysia.
