Baguio Writers Group To Stage A Creative Journal Workshop In The City This Coming November

The Baguio Writers Group (BWG) will be holding a writing workshop from November 15 to 17 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at the ICM House of Prayer on Recto Road, Baguio City. Called Journey to Selfhood: A Creative Journal Workshop, the event will be facilitated by Merci Javier-Dulawan, Babeth Lolarga and Baboo Mondonedo.

The aim of the workshop is to teach participants how to start a journal and how to find the inspiration to maintain and keep it alive. Other creative outlets like blogging and social media sites such as Facebook will also be covered.

The workshop is open to participants from within and outside Baguio City. Fees are as follows: Php3,500 for Baguio locals and Php5,000 for out-of-town participants. The fees will cover board and lodging. If you are a senior citizen, you are eligible for discounts. Just present an ID upon registering.

Slots for the event are limited to 20. To reserve a slot, you may contact either of the following facilitators:
Merci Javier-Dulawan: merci7682@yahoo.com
Babeth Lolarga: babethlolarga@gmail.com

From a press release:
"The workshop, open to participants from Baguio and outside the summer capital,  aims to teach non-journal keepers how to start one and find the purposes for doing so; make the personal political and political personal; show how a journal or diary can be an outlet for the creative soul; how to sustain a new habit.

The workshop will also demonstrate how to use the new media like blogging or Facebook and up to what extent or limit does one reveal/disclose the self and how to use art as a consoling tool when words do not flow as quickly as one wants to."
