Tree Planting at the Baguio Artists Forest Park

Various groups joined hands once again in the second phase of a tree planting activity at the work-in-progress Baguio Artists Forest Park in Asin. Although I wasn't able to attend the first activity last week as I was in Manila that time, I managed to join yesterday's activities and I couldn't be more happier. Hundreds of seedlings were planted in an open space that will soon turn into a forest if things go as planned.

The feeling is great. At the end of the day, you feel fulfilled just thinking about the fact that you are part of something that will soon probably turn into a major attraction in the city of Baguio. Sure, we already have Tam-awan Village, the BenCab Museum, the Victor Oteyza Community Art Space (VOCAS) or even Cafe by the Ruins. But the Baguio Artists Forest Park is promising something different. And that's a good thing. Because diversity is what the Baguio art scene needs right now.

To the team behind the project and to everyone involved in the realization of the dream, good luck. May the art force be with you.
