Welcome to Mountain of Garbage Province

Last month, the City of Baguio was all over the news because of the garbage crisis that ensued when a retaining wall over at the Irisan dump site collapsed. It wasn't able to handle the fury brought by Typhoon Mina. A few people passed away because of the incident.

Now, it is understandable that non-residents of Baguio will look into our city as one full of garbage. We have no one to blame for this but ourselves. People can call our city the City of Garbage anytime they want. We deserve it. But to call a nearby province a "mountain of garbage" is another thing. Just like what the following drawing implied:

Whoever made the drawing, take a geography lesson. Please be informed that Baguio City is not Mountain Province.
