Who is Apol "Pholie" Hidalgo-Cho?

Looking for inspiration? Something or someone to motivate you in accomplishing a goal or just breaking through a barricade, emotional or physical. You need not look far because inspiration is right amongst us in the person of Apol Hidalgo-Cho, a paraplegic who hails from Lubo, Kibungan, Benguet.

In spite of being paralyzed from the waist down due to an unfortunate accident, she marched on with a very productive life. She wrote not only one but a couple of books. The first one aptly titled “A Journey to Nirvana” traces her humble beginnings growing up in Kibungan up to the accident she suffered during a pilgrimage to Israel that changed the course of her life. The second book called “My Vindication” picks up where “A Journey to Nirvana” left off.

Apol Hidalgo-Cho studied at Mountain State Agricultural College which is now the Benguet State University. She graduated with a degree on Agricultural Economics in March 1979. Just recently, she was recognized by the Benguet State University as one of its “Most Outstanding Women Alumni”. She walks with crutches and orthopedic shoes.
