Ifugao Hudhud and Kalinga Ullalim in Concert

This coming May 21 and 22, a show called “Chanted Journeys” will play at the main theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The main themes surrounding the show are the Ifugao’s Hudhud and the Kalinga’s Ullalim. Majority of the chanters and dancers taking the stage are Cordillerans.

Floy Quintos, director of the show, in an article published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer says: “Chanted Journeys brings together 27 Hudhud dancers, 7 Hagiyo dancers, 15 members of the Kalinga Budong dance troupe, 2 Kalinga and 1 Ifugao student to act as narrators”.

Joining the Cordillerans onstage are artists from various groups namely the Philippine Ballet Theater, the UST Symphony Orchestra, the Imusicapella Chorale and the Barangay Folk Troupe.
